That's the part I'm most confused about. You already know Mammon-san was your predecessor. Some parts of the letter may relate to his job as a Professor... But the meaning behind the prayer beads eludes me.

If it is, I'm not certain how we will ascertain that from the contents of this latter.

I doubt the ghosts will be helpful. Akira and I initially used the ouija board to contact Mammon-san, and the one who responded had no idea of who that was.
