Nikki can find Akechi lingering around the area where Haruka collapsed, staring at the ground with a hand on his chin like the floor is about to offer him all the secrets of the universe. Assuming she doesn't sneak up on him completely, Akechi will glance up once he notices her, a... very somber look on his face. His attempt at a smile looks more like a grimace than anything else.]
Ah... Nikki-san, was it? It's a relief to see you're unharmed.
[Nikki finds Akechi after changing into a suitably somber mourning outfit - which isn't especially usefulI, but the clothes are there, and all her problems in the past were typically solved by putting on the right outfit. Maybe it's just the placebo effect, but it does make her feel a little better.]
It's a relief to see you're okay, too, but... [She stares at the spot on the ground that had, for a few brief moments, been where Haruka's body had rested before the staff had carted her away.] ...I wish we all were.
[No amount of wishing will undo what's already happened, though. What a mess...]
How are you faring? What happened was... undoubtedly a tragedy, but as a detective, I have to stress the importance of remaining calm. If someone is behind this, they're surely counting on our distress to muddle the truth about their crimes.
I wasn't very close to her... we only talked once or twice. But she was kind to me. She didn't deserve... that. [Poor Haruka.] But... the truth will come out, right? No matter what?
[Nikki... He looks concerned as she trails off, his facial expression one of pure sympathy — but that changes once she asks a question. Akechi flinches, lips pressed together like he's desperately trying to hold something back, but it's useless. A moment later, he blurts out:]
B— Better not tell you now...
[He suddenly looks so, so miserable.]
... Forgive me, Nikki-san. I... [He shakes his head.] I promise I won't rest until I've uncovered the truth, but please don't ask any questions. I can't answer them in this state.
[Though whatever the heck that was has left him looking somewhat weary, he still sounds relieved when he replies to her. Thank you for understanding, rabies-chan.......]
I'll be counting on you and the others to get to the bottom of this. Likewise, you can rely on me. The truth behind Tenoh-san's death will come to light.

...I won't ask, then. But, if I can help at all...
[She looks down at her hands.]
I'm no detective, but... there are so many of us here. You don't have to do this alone.
